On the day of our inspection:

1. A detailed discussion with you to learn about how you live and any issues that are concerning you

2. A thorough visual inspection of your house, inside and out, including the attic.  Special attention will be paid to the building envelope (what separates the inside from the outside)

3. An evaluation of your insulation

4. Leak checks on all gas lines.

5. Testing of all combustion appliances for safety and to determine their efficiency.

6. A visual inspection of any duct work and ventilation systems

7. An air leakage test.

8. Inspection of your appliances to look for energy hogs.

At our office:

1. Detailed analysis of your home using energy modeling software.

2. Analysis of your utility bills to determine unanticipated energy use.

3. Research on your furnace, water heater, and appliances

4. Report preparation

At our follow-up meeting:

1. Complete report showing safety, durability, comfort issues, and major recommendations for energy upgrades

2. Presentation of several improvement packages that include estimates of cost and savings

3. Discussion of incentive and financing options

4. Answers to any questions you may have.

After that, it’s up to you!
